Never Mind The Buzzcocks ! - Chilton Music Fest Update -

'THE Gift' help, Charity Music Festival out of a Jam! Best unsigned bands in Britain get shown the way by one of the best.
Chilton Music Festival, with all of its proceeds going to the British Heart Foundation, will happen on Saturday, September 2, thanks to the ‘Gift’.
The festival was always going to have a laid back, non commercial vibe, after some advice from Glastonbury’s founder, Mr Michael Eavis.
“We wanted to get the very best unsigned bands in the country, along with some of the excellent talent in South Central Britain and top it all off with an experienced and influential band, that everybody knows and loves”, said festival organisers. “When the Buzzcocks offered their services FoC, we were delighted. However travel logistics between European festivals and essential promotional work for their new album “Flat Pack Philosophy” meant that they had to pull out of this year’s proceedings.
However, all was not lost and at the 11th hour Rick Buckler Esq, drummer of the legendary and influential Jam, confirmed his involvement.

Rick’s new band the Gift, playing their own original material along with all the old Jam classics ‘Going Underground’, ‘Down in the tube station at Midnight’ and ‘That’s Entertainment’ to name but a few, will be there to head up a great lineup of acts, as well as former Boo-Radleys’ front-man Sice, with his latest music outfit Paperlung, as championed by Ms Janice Long on BBC Radio Two.
Add to this the very Best Unsigned Bands in Britain, as discovered via new online phenomenon WWW.TOURDATES.CO.UK and a healthy inclusion of local talent, Chilton Music Festival is shaping up to be a fantastic inaugural event and looks set to become one of the more special gigs on the British Summer Music calendar.

Organisers have thrown in all the usual festival fayre, with bucking broncos, family activities, jewelry and clothes stalls, and bouncy castles galore, available during the day to keep the family happy:

Tickets are priced at £7.50 for the evening music session or just £5.00 if you get in before 6pm.

Festival site opens for family fun at 12 noon, music starts at 2pm and goes on until late.

Best local band on the day will also be playing an exclusive After Show Party.
