Thame’s MP to judge Carnival Parade -

THAME’S MP, John Howell will join forces with the Mayor of Thame, Jeannette Matelot Green, to judge this year’s Thame Carnival entrants.

The annual Thame Carnival and Fete will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2009, with the parade starting from John Hampden School at 12.30pm, moving through the town to arrive on Southern Road Recreation ground for the start of the Fete at 1pm.

The carnival procession will include floats, walking groups and motorized vehicles, and John Howell and the Mayor will present prizes to the winners of each category at the Fete.

There will be a variety of stalls at the fete, this year being organised by the Rotary Club of Thame. which has also organized a raffle with an exciting selection of prizes including:
Hot Air Balloon Ride for 2
Glider flight for 1 from Haddenham
3 Course Lunch for 4 at the Spread Eagle
Meal for 2 at the Thatch

They cost £1 each and are also available from various shops in Thame and from the other organisations which coordinate the Thame Festival. The draw will take place at 4pm by the Mayor of Thame.

The programme of exciting events in the arena during the afternoon, organised by the Lions Club of Thame, includes:

1.30-2pm Thame Concert band
2-2.30pm Red Kite Scooter club display
2.30-3pm Tug of war competition – heats
3-3.30pm Blues Rock and Roll band
3.30-4pm Tug of war Final

Beat the goalie will take place throughout the afternoon in the arena with the goalie from Thame Utd Football Club.
