Have your say on route for proposed Thame to Haddenham path -
A PUBLIC consultation has been launched on the preferred route for the proposed Haddenham to Thame Community Path for walkers, cyclists and horseriders.
The consultation is being carried out by Buckinghamshire County County who carried out an earlier consultation in late 2009 which showed overwhelming support for a community path between Haddenham and Thame.
There are two possible routes between the Thame and Haddenham, one via Scotsgrove Mill and the other via Tythrop.
The on line survey is available on Buckinghamshire County Council’s HAVE YOUR SAY web pages: LINK
Here you will find information about both routes, as well as a plan and photos.
PUBLIC MEETINGS
BCC's Head of Transport, Jim Stevens, is holding three meetings for those who would prefer to complete the survey in writing and discuss the proposals in further detail. One will be at the Haddenham and Long Crendon Local Area Forum TONIGHT, March 24, between 1800-1900, at Long Crendon Village Centre.
The second will be at the Haddenham May day celebrations on the 1st May (Church End Green (am)) and Café Plus (0930-1230, Haddenham Village Hall) on the 2nd May, where you will also be able to complete the short questionnaire and indicate your preferred route.
A third meeting, yet to be finalised, will be held in Thame. I am currently still organising an opportunity to display in Thame and will write to you again with more information when this has been arranged.
The closing date for the consultation is the May 28, 2010.
The council has pointed out that consultation is to determine which route residents would prefer to have upgraded in legal status to a bridleway, therefore enabling legal walking, cycling and horse riding along its length. It has further stated:
"Buckinghamshire County Council does not have funding to change the surface of the path, and on completion of the consultation intends only to progress with negotiations to convert the status of the chosen route and upgrade structures as necessary to achieve best practice route guidelines for bridleways."
