14/07/10.....Local projects to benefit from council grants -
A LOCAL activity centre for children with special needs is among several projects to benefit from a £400,000 cash boost from South Oxfordshire District Council.
The following Thame area projects will receive a cash boost for new building and refurbishment projects :
• £100,000 to provide teenage facilities at Thomley Hall Centre in Worminghall for children with disabilities
• £67,600 refurbishment of the pavilion at Great Milton recreation ground.
Rodney Mann, Cabinet Member with responsibility for finance, said: “We are delighted to be able to help these much needed projects as they will be of such benefit to the local communities. It’s very important that we support local groups where possible.
“I’m very impressed by the quality of applicants this year and the hard work going on throughout our district. This money will help these projects grow and reach more local people.”
NB Whilst this money has been approved by the Cabinet, the decision can be called in by the council’s scrutiny committee before Friday, July 16.
