08/06/12.....'Disgusted' by Thame Town Council over lack of Jubilee celebrations -

Dear Editor, I would of thought by now we would have seen at least one resignation and a public apology to the people of Thame from the Town Council. Their appalling and unacceptable excuse for not organising any sort of official Diamond Jubilee Celebrations in the Town is nothing short of scandalous, it is their job. Heavens knows the Town Hall has more paid staff than your average size small business. Was it totally beyond the minds of our civic leaders to think of combining the annual Thame Carnival with the Jubilee weekend?

A few months ago we learned that the Town Council refused to fly the English flag of St George outside our civic building and now this. Why don't they just hang a large portrait of Che Guevara outside the Town Hall and be done with it, and also re-brand the building "Shame Town Hall" whilst their at it!

Yours, a thoroughly disgusted Thame resident.
